US 2 & Icicle Road Roundabout

Serving as a key gateway for local and cross-state travel, a major intersection in the City of Leavenworth required improvements to enhance safety, mobility, and multimodal access. Working with LINK Transit, the City of Leavenworth, and WSDOT, RH2 led the design and permitting for a new roundabout that balances traffic flow with pedestrian, bicycle, and transit needs.

The project’s success relied on detailed constructability planning and traffic management to maintain continuous access through the intersection during construction. Improvements included new sidewalks and pedestrian and bicycle ramps, upgraded lighting, stormwater and water utility improvements, channelization, signage and striping, landscaping, and irrigation. The completed intersection provides safer operations, improved connectivity, and long-term reliability for one of the community’s most important transportation corridors.
