We are proud to share that Don Popoff, RH2’s Nampa Office Manager and Principal Mechanical Engineer, has been elected as Trustee At Large to the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Pacific Northwest Section Board of Trustees.
This election reflects more than two decades of professional dedication to water systems and public service. Don began his water career over 20 years ago working on small water systems in North Central Washington. Since joining RH2 in 2002, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s growth, including leading the expansion of RH2’s services into Idaho and establishing our Nampa office.
According to RH2 President Tony Pardi, Don’s leadership is defined by action and accountability.
“One of RH2's core philosophies has always been that we strive to work in the best interest of our clients. We focus on putting their needs first. Don has lived this philosophy his entire career at RH2. Our clients know that Don will always do whatever it takes to get the job done. Don is fearless. If he sees an opportunity, he takes it.”
Don embodies RH2’s mission to improve everyday life in local communities through technical expertise, innovative solutions, and trusted relationships. His passion for inspiring future engineers led to the creation of RH2’s Egg Drop competition for students from Lee Elementary School in East Wenatchee, something that teachers, students, and RH2 staff look forward to each year.
Equally central to Don’s career has been his long-standing involvement with AWWA and his dedication to advancing the profession. Over the past two decades, Don has served in numerous roles at both the Subsection and Section levels, including chairing the Section’s Small Water System Committee, serving as the “Fun Night” chair (including bringing a bull to the Yakima Section conference), and coordinating Continuing Education Unit training for Water 101.
Don’s appointment as Trustee At Large for the PNWS-AWWA Section is an acknowledgement of his expertise and contributions to the industry. Reflecting on his time with AWWA, Don shares:
“The people I have met through this organization (many that I call personal friends), are too many to count. I believe I can bring the same passion, energy, and enthusiasm to the Section Board that I have brought to solving issues for water systems. I want to help introduce and involve as many new members as possible to the Section that has given me so much.”
Join us in congratulating Don on this well-deserved recognition!
