Project Description
The Hunter Avenue Booster Pump Station is a critical component of Oregon City’s water distribution system, serving both as a pumping facility and a SCADA communications hub linking the City to the South Fork Water Board’s treatment plant. Aging telemetry and pump control panels were creating reliability and operational challenges, including obsolete components and limited manual pump operation.
Working with the City, RH2 designed upgrades that replaced the existing telemetry and soft-starter panels with modern VFDs and updated control systems. Construction phasing was carefully planned to keep at least one pump in service at all times and minimize SCADA communication downtime. RH2 also provided PLC programming, HMI and SCADA updates, radio network configuration, system testing, startup support, and operator training. The project was completed below the engineer’s estimate, with minimal change orders, improving system reliability while staying well within budget.
