Project Description
RH2 supported the City of Medford in delivering a 24-acre-foot regional stormwater detention and water quality facility on Lazy Creek, one of the largest in the Rogue Valley. Identified in the City’s Stormwater Master Plan, the project reduces downstream flood risk while managing runoff from surrounding urban development.
The facility required approximately 33,000 cubic yards of excavation and includes large concrete flow control structures and improvements to an existing earthen berm, now classified as the Vista Pointe Dam. A bioswale was constructed to enhance treatment of stormwater runoff from the nearby Vista Pointe subdivision while creating a visible water feature integrated with pedestrian path connections through Oregon Hills Park. RH2 led design and permitting, including state and federal approvals, delivering a multi-use facility that improves flood protection, water quality, and public access within the park system.
